Nice little midweek tune for you here. This is 'Different' a debut single from this 4 piece indie band from Mullingar, Ireland.

'Forming in their early teens ,The Academic have been building quite a reputation for their live shows and with the band still in their teens , the future looks bright for this new indie outfit from Mullingar, Ireland. Creating an infectious blend of indie rock /pop , this young band have an astonishing ability to craft scores of songs that make people want to sing and dance.
The band is made up of Craig Fitzgerald on lead vocals/guitar alongside Dean Gavin (Drums) and brothers Stephen (Bass) and Matt Murtagh (Lead guitar). The band has spent much of 2013 writing material with a debut EP expected in early 2014.
With an inherent charm that shines through, 2014 looks set to be a busy year for the midlands based outfit.'

I have to say, I'm thanking the absolute legend that is, Annie Mac for this one. I first heard her play it on her Radio 1 evening show a few days ago and I instantly had to know more about it. You know, one of those songs you hear one time and then you can't leave the radio or turn it off until they've told you the name of it. Then someone talks over the radio and you miss the name of the band, so you're experiencing this intense, white hot rage.
Them ones ...
Anyway, this track! Do you know what I love about it? It's one of those songs you know are going to do well in the spring/summer. When it's finally got warm enough to drive around with the windows down music blasting, or at a BBQ or at a festival with a pint in hand. I just think it's one of those rare tunes that will blossom in the sunshine and become a summer anthem for many.
These lads are fresh and I think they are going to do incredibly well. Just watch this space. Don't tell me I didn't tell you so.
